The Osiris Trio is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1988 in the Netherlands. The trio consists of pianist Ellen Corver, violinist Peter Brunt, and cellist Larissa Groeneveld. The ensemble has gained international recognition for their performances of classical music, particularly works by Dutch composers. Ellen Corver, the pianist of the Osiris Trio, was born in Amsterdam in 1954. She began playing the piano at a young age and went on to study at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. Corver has won numerous awards for her performances, including the prestigious Dutch Music Prize in 1992. She has also served as a professor of piano at the Conservatory of Amsterdam since 1995. Peter Brunt, the violinist of the Osiris Trio, was born in the Netherlands in 1959. He began playing the violin at the age of six and went on to study at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. Brunt has performed with many orchestras and ensembles throughout Europe and has won several awards for his performances. He is also a professor of violin at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Larissa Groeneveld, the cellist of the Osiris Trio, was born in the Netherlands in 1961. She began playing the cello at the age of six and went on to study at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. Groeneveld has performed with many orchestras and ensembles throughout Europe and has won several awards for her performances. She is also a professor of cello at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. The Osiris Trio was founded in 1988, when Corver, Brunt, and Groeneveld decided to form a chamber music ensemble. The trio takes its name from the Egyptian god Osiris, who was associated with music and the arts. The ensemble quickly gained a reputation for their performances of classical music, particularly works by Dutch composers such as Johannes Brahms, Maurice Ravel, and Antonín Dvořák. One of the highlights of the Osiris Trio's career was their performance at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in 1992.
