Born in Australia, de la Vega began playing the flute at a young age and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. She went on to study at some of the world's most prestigious music schools and has since performed with leading orchestras and ensembles around the globe. De la Vega was born in Sydney, Australia in 1985. Her parents were both musicians, and she grew up surrounded by music. She began playing the flute at the age of five and quickly showed a talent for the instrument. She went on to study at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she was awarded the prestigious Frank Hutchens Memorial Scholarship for outstanding achievement in music. After completing her studies in Australia, de la Vega moved to Europe to further her musical education. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she was awarded the DipRAM, the highest performance award given by the institution. She also studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany, where she received a postgraduate diploma with distinction. De la Vega's career as a professional flutist began to take off in the early 2010s. She made her debut as a soloist with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in 2011, performing Mozart's Flute Concerto No. 1. The performance was a critical success, and de la Vega was praised for her technical skill and musicality. Since then, de la Vega has performed with leading orchestras and ensembles around the world. She has appeared as a soloist with the London Mozart Players, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and the English Chamber Orchestra, among others. She has also performed at major music festivals, including the BBC Proms, the Salzburg Festival, and the Edinburgh International Festival. De la Vega's repertoire is wide-ranging, encompassing works from the Baroque era to the present day. She is particularly known for her interpretations of Mozart's flute concertos, which she has performed and recorded extensively. The album features de la Vega's performances of Mozart's Flute Concertos Nos. 1 and 2, as well as his Andante in C for Flute and Orchestra.
