Her mother was a pianist and her father was a conductor, so it was only natural that she would develop a love for music. Junker began her musical education at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where she studied piano and singing. She later went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in 2008. During her time in London, Junker also studied with renowned soprano Dame Emma Kirkby, who had a significant influence on her singing style. Junker's career as a professional singer began in 2009, when she won the prestigious Handel Singing Competition in London. This was a major turning point in her career, as it gave her the opportunity to perform in some of the world's most renowned concert halls and opera houses. Since then, Junker has performed in a wide range of productions, from baroque operas to contemporary works. Some of her most notable performances include her portrayal of the title role in Handel's "Alcina" at the Aix-en-Provence Festival in 2015, and her performance as the soprano soloist in Bach's "St. Matthew Passion" at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 2016. In addition to winning the Handel Singing Competition, she was also a finalist in the prestigious BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition in 2011. She has also been awarded the Prix Caecilia, which is one of the most prestigious music awards in Belgium. One of the things that sets Junker apart from other classical singers is her versatility. She is equally comfortable performing baroque music as she is performing contemporary works, and she has a unique ability to bring a fresh perspective to even the most well-known pieces. Junker's voice has been described as "pure and crystalline," with a "remarkable agility and flexibility." She has a natural ability to convey emotion through her singing, and her performances are often praised for their depth and nuance. In addition to her work as a performer, Junker is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught masterclasses at a number of prestigious institutions, including the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. Looking to the future, Junker shows no signs of slowing down. She continues to perform regularly in concerts and operas around the world, and she is constantly seeking out new challenges and opportunities to grow as an artist.
