Artist Info
Marina Viotti is a Swiss mezzo-soprano who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born on May 22, 1989, in Geneva, Switzerland, Viotti grew up in a family of musicians. Her father, Marcello Viotti, was a renowned conductor, and her mother, Claudia Visca, was a pianist. From a young age, Viotti was exposed to classical music and began singing in choirs and taking voice lessons. Viotti's talent was evident from a young age, and she began performing in public at the age of 12. She went on to study at the Conservatoire de Lausanne and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in vocal performance. Viotti's career began to take off in 2014 when she won the prestigious International Mozart Competition in Salzburg, Austria. This win opened many doors for her, and she began to receive invitations to perform in major opera houses and concert halls around the world. One of Viotti's most notable performances was in the role of Rosina in Rossini's "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera in 2016. Her performance was widely praised, with critics noting her "rich, warm voice" and "sparkling stage presence." Viotti has also performed at the Royal Opera House in London, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, and the Zurich Opera House, among others. In addition to her opera performances, Viotti is also a sought-after concert singer. She has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Vienna Philharmonic. Viotti is particularly known for her interpretations of works by Mozart, Schubert, and Mahler. Viotti has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In addition to her win at the International Mozart Competition, she was also a finalist in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition in 2017. She has been named a Rising Star by the European Concert Hall Organisation, and in 2019, she was awarded the Swiss Music Prize. Despite her success, Viotti remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to work hard and strive for excellence in every performance. With her talent and dedication, there is no doubt that Marina Viotti will continue to be a major force in the world of classical music for many years to come.More....
