The Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra is a classical music ensemble based in Pécs, Hungary. The orchestra was founded in 1991 by a group of musicians who wanted to create a professional orchestra in the region. The founding members included conductor András Vass, violinist László Paulik, and cellist László Fenyő. The orchestra's main members include around 70 musicians, including string, woodwind, brass, and percussion players. The orchestra is led by conductor Tibor Bogányi, who has been with the orchestra since 2013. The orchestra's concertmaster is László Paulik, one of the founding members. The Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra has performed in many prestigious venues around the world, including the Musikverein in Vienna, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. The orchestra has also performed at many international music festivals, including the Budapest Spring Festival, the Salzburg Festival, and the Edinburgh International Festival. One of the highlights of the orchestra's performances was their 2009 concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The concert was part of the BBC Proms series and featured works by Hungarian composers, including Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály.
