Period:RomanticModernGenre:OperaVocalLucienne Van Deyck was born on May 12, 1975, in Brussels, Belgium. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her father being a pianist and her mother a singer. From a young age, Lucienne showed a natural talent for music and began taking piano lessons at the age of five. However, it was not until she was 12 years old that she discovered her true passion for singing. Lucienne began her vocal training at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where she studied under the guidance of renowned vocal coach, Jeanne Deroubaix. She quickly excelled in her studies and was soon performing in various concerts and recitals throughout Belgium. Her talent did not go unnoticed, and she was awarded several prizes and scholarships for her outstanding performances. In 1995, Lucienne was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where she continued her vocal training under the tutelage of renowned soprano, Renée Fleming. During her time at Juilliard, Lucienne had the opportunity to perform in several operas and concerts, including a performance of Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" at the Metropolitan Opera House. After graduating from Juilliard in 1999, Lucienne returned to Europe and began her professional career as an opera singer. She made her debut at the Royal Opera House in London in 2001, where she performed the role of Pamina in Mozart's "The Magic Flute." Her performance was met with critical acclaim, and she was soon invited to perform in several other major opera houses throughout Europe, including the Paris Opera, the Berlin State Opera, and the Vienna State Opera. Lucienne's repertoire includes a wide range of operas, from the Baroque era to contemporary works. She is particularly known for her interpretations of Mozart's operas, and has been praised for her ability to bring a fresh and modern perspective to these classic works. In addition to her opera performances, Lucienne is also a sought-after concert singer, and has performed in several major concert halls throughout the world. Throughout her career, Lucienne has been the recipient of several awards and honors. In 2003, she was awarded the prestigious Belgian Music Prize for Best Opera Singer, and in 2007, she was awarded the title of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government for her contributions to the arts. Despite her success, Lucienne remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to work tirelessly to perfect her technique and interpretation, and is always looking for new ways to challenge herself as an artist. Her passion for music and her commitment to excellence have made her one of the most respected and admired opera singers of her generation.More....
