She was born on October 16, 1951, in Gdańsk, Poland. Her parents were both musicians, and her father was a well-known conductor. From a young age, Pobłocka showed a keen interest in music, and her parents encouraged her to pursue her passion. Pobłocka began her piano studies at the age of six with Professor Zbigniew Śliwiński. She later studied at the State Higher School of Music in Warsaw with Professor Ryszard Bakst. She graduated with honors in 1974 and went on to pursue further studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna with Professor Dieter Weber. Pobłocka's talent was recognized early on in her career, and she won several prestigious awards, including the First Prize at the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1980. This was a significant achievement for Pobłocka, as the Chopin Competition is one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. She also won the First Prize at the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy, in 1977. Pobłocka's career took off after her success at the Chopin Competition.
