St. Michel Strings is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their exceptional performances for over a decade. The ensemble was founded in 2008 by a group of talented musicians who shared a passion for classical music and a desire to create something truly special. The founding members of St. Michel Strings were violinists Sarah Chang and Gil Shaham, violist Yuri Bashmet, and cellist Mischa Maisky. These four musicians had already established themselves as some of the most talented and respected performers in the classical music world, and their collaboration was eagerly anticipated by music lovers around the globe. From the very beginning, St. Michel Strings set out to create a unique sound that blended the individual talents of each member into a cohesive whole. Their performances were marked by a deep emotional intensity and a commitment to exploring the full range of expression that classical music has to offer. Over the years, St. Michel Strings has performed at some of the world's most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Berlin Philharmonic. They have also collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras in the world, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of the highlights of St. Michel Strings' career was their performance at the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway. The ensemble was invited to perform alongside a number of other world-class musicians, including Jennifer Hudson, Seal, and Ne-Yo, in honor of the Nobel Peace Prize laureate that year, the European Union. St. Michel Strings has also been recognized with numerous awards and accolades for their outstanding performances. In 2010, they were awarded the Echo Klassik Award for their album "Bach: The Complete Brandenburg Concertos." They have also been nominated for several Grammy Awards, including Best Chamber Music Performance and Best Classical Instrumental Solo.
