Dmitri Atapine is a renowned cellist and chamber musician who has made a name for himself in the classical music world. Born in Russia, Atapine began his musical journey at a young age, showing a natural talent for the cello. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory and later at Yale University, where he earned his Master of Music degree. Atapine has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has collaborated with many renowned musicians, including pianist Vladimir Feltsman, violinist Ilya Kaler, and the Pacifica Quartet. One of Atapine's most notable performances was his solo debut with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra at the age of 17. He has also performed as a soloist with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra, and the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra. Atapine is also a dedicated chamber musician and has performed with many ensembles, including the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Seattle Chamber Music Society, and the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival. He is a founding member of the award-winning ensemble, the Russian Chamber Art Society. In addition to his performances, Atapine is also an accomplished educator.
