Born on June 27, 1965, in Pontrhydyfen, Wales, Evans grew up in a musical family and began singing at a young age. Her father was a tenor and her mother was a pianist, and they encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Evans studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree. She then went on to study at the National Opera Studio in London, where she honed her skills as a soprano. Her talent was quickly recognized, and she was soon offered roles in some of the world's most prestigious opera houses. One of Evans' early breakthrough performances was in 1994, when she played the role of Susanna in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera. Her performance was widely praised, and she quickly became known for her ability to bring depth and emotion to her roles. She went on to perform in a number of other operas, including "The Magic Flute," "Don Giovanni," and "Carmen." In 1999, Evans made her debut at the Royal Opera House in London, playing the role of Pamina in "The Magic Flute." Her performance was once again highly acclaimed, and she quickly became a favorite of audiences and critics alike. She went on to perform in a number of other productions at the Royal Opera House, including "La traviata," "The Marriage of Figaro," and "The Barber of Seville." Evans has also performed at a number of other prestigious opera houses around the world, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Paris Opera, and the Vienna State Opera. She has worked with some of the world's most renowned conductors, including Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Colin Davis, and Sir Charles Mackerras.
