Eric Halfvarson is a renowned classical music artist known for his deep and resonant bass voice. He was born on August 11, 1949, in California, USA. Halfvarson grew up in a musical family, with his father being a professional singer and his mother a pianist. He started singing at a young age and was encouraged by his parents to pursue a career in music. Halfvarson attended the University of Southern California, where he studied voice and music theory. He later went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he received a Master of Music degree. During his time at Juilliard, Halfvarson was mentored by renowned bass-baritone Jerome Hines, who helped him develop his vocal technique and stage presence. Halfvarson made his professional debut in 1974, singing the role of Colline in Puccini's La bohème with the San Francisco Opera. He has also been awarded the Order of the Lion of Finland, which is one of the highest honors given by the Finnish government.
