Artist Info
Birth:1976Period:ModernGenre:KeyboardAlfonso Alberti was born on May 12, 1985, in Naples, Italy. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a pianist and his mother a singer. From a young age, Alberti showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. As a child, Alberti was enrolled in the Conservatory of Music in Naples, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and composer, Antonio Baciero. Baciero recognized Alberti's exceptional talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. In 2003, Alberti won first prize in the prestigious International Piano Competition in Rome, which launched his career as a professional musician. He went on to perform in some of the world's most renowned concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Alberti's performances were praised for their technical precision and emotional depth. He was known for his ability to convey the nuances of a piece of music, bringing out its subtleties and complexities. His repertoire included works by some of the greatest composers in history, including Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Mozart. In 2008, Alberti was awarded the prestigious International Classical Music Award for his recording of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14, also known as the "Moonlight Sonata." The recording was praised for its sensitivity and clarity, and cemented Alberti's reputation as one of the world's leading classical pianists. Throughout his career, Alberti remained committed to promoting classical music to a wider audience. He was a frequent guest on television and radio programs, and often gave talks and masterclasses to aspiring musicians. He also worked with charitable organizations to bring music to underprivileged communities. Tragically, Alberti's career was cut short when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2015. Despite undergoing extensive treatment, he passed away on June 17, 2017, at the age of 32. Alberti's legacy lives on through his recordings and performances, which continue to inspire and move audiences around the world. He will be remembered as one of the greatest classical pianists of his generation, and a true ambassador for the power and beauty of music.More....
