Francis Colpron is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. He was born in Quebec City, Canada, in 1968, and grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a music teacher, and his mother was a pianist. From a young age, Colpron showed a keen interest in music and began playing the recorder at the age of six. Colpron's talent was evident from an early age, and he quickly became a sought-after performer. He studied at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec, where he received a diploma in recorder performance. He then went on to study at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland, where he received a diploma in early music performance. The ensemble quickly gained a reputation for its innovative and dynamic performances of early music. Colpron has also been recognized for his work as a conductor. In 2003, he was appointed the artistic director of Les Boréades de Montréal, a position he held until 2018.
