Born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1978, Cooper grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a professional violinist, and her mother was a pianist. From a young age, Cooper showed a keen interest in music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Cooper's talent was evident from the start, and she quickly became a prodigy. She began performing in public at the age of six and won her first competition at the age of eight. Cooper's parents recognized her potential and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Cooper's formal music education began at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, where she studied under the tutelage of Adrian Petcu. She later went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where she was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal for her outstanding performance. Cooper's career as a professional musician began in 2000 when she joined the RTE National Symphony Orchestra as the principal second violinist. One of Cooper's most significant achievements was her appointment as the leader of the RTE Concert Orchestra in 2010.
