Karolina Rojahn is a classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a pianist, chamber musician, and educator. Born in Poland, Rojahn began her musical journey at a young age, showing a natural talent for the piano. She went on to study at some of the most prestigious music schools in Europe and the United States, and has since performed in some of the world's most renowned concert halls. Early Life and Education Karolina Rojahn was born in Poland in 1979. She grew up in a family of musicians, with both her parents being professional musicians. Her mother was a pianist and her father was a cellist, and they both played in the local symphony orchestra. Rojahn was exposed to classical music from a very young age, and it quickly became clear that she had a natural talent for the piano. At the age of six, Rojahn began taking piano lessons with her mother. She quickly progressed and began performing in local concerts and competitions. When she was ten years old, she won first prize in a regional piano competition, which gave her the opportunity to perform in a concert with the local symphony orchestra. Rojahn continued to study piano throughout her childhood and teenage years. She attended a music high school in Poland, where she received a rigorous education in music theory, history, and performance. After graduating, she decided to pursue a career in music and applied to several music schools in Europe. In 1998, Rojahn was accepted into the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany. She studied there for four years, receiving a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance. During her time in Hannover, Rojahn had the opportunity to perform in several concerts and competitions, including the International Brahms Competition in Pörtschach, Austria, where she won third prize. After completing her undergraduate studies, Rojahn decided to continue her education in the United States. She was accepted into the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where she studied with the renowned pianist Wha Kyung Byun. She received a Master of Music degree in piano performance in 2004. Career Highlights Since completing her studies, Karolina Rojahn has established herself as a highly respected pianist and chamber musician. She has performed in some of the world's most renowned concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. One of Rojahn's most notable performances was at the 2006 Tanglewood Music Festival in Lenox, Massachusetts. She was invited to perform as a soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, playing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major. The performance was widely praised by critics, who noted Rojahn's technical skill and musical sensitivity. Rojahn has also made a name for herself as a chamber musician. She has performed with several renowned ensembles, including the Borromeo String Quartet and the Boston Chamber Music Society. In 2010, she founded the Boston Trio, which has since become one of the most highly regarded piano trios in the United States.
