Malmö Chamber Choir is a renowned classical music ensemble based in Malmö, Sweden. The choir was founded in 1986 by Dan-Olof Stenlund, a prominent Swedish conductor and music educator. Since its inception, the Malmö Chamber Choir has established itself as one of the leading choral groups in Scandinavia, known for its exceptional musicianship and innovative programming. The choir's early years were marked by a series of successful performances in Sweden and abroad. In 1988, the choir won first prize at the International Choral Competition in Tolosa, Spain, which helped to raise its profile and attract new members. In addition to its performances, the Malmö Chamber Choir has also been recognized for its recordings, which have received numerous awards and critical acclaim. The choir's recording of Sandström's High Mass was awarded the prestigious Diapason d'Or in 2005, and its recording of Rehnqvist's Puksånger was named "Choral Recording of the Year" by Gramophone magazine in 2010.
