Les Muffatti is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2004 in Brussels, Belgium. The ensemble is named after the famous French composer and conductor, Jean-Philippe Rameau's Les Indes Galantes, which features a character named Muffatti. The ensemble is known for its performances of Baroque and early Classical music, and has gained a reputation for its innovative and dynamic interpretations of these works. The founding members of Les Muffatti were Peter Van Heyghen, Bart Jacobs, and François Fernandez. Van Heyghen, who serves as the ensemble's artistic director and conductor, is a renowned Baroque flutist and has performed with many of the world's leading early music ensembles. Jacobs is a harpsichordist and organist, and Fernandez is a violinist who has performed with many of the world's leading Baroque orchestras.
