In 1955, she made her debut as Barbarina in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. Ingeborg quickly gained recognition for her beautiful voice and her ability to portray a wide range of characters on stage. She became a regular performer at the Bavarian State Opera and also appeared in productions at the Vienna State Opera, the Salzburg Festival, and the Royal Opera House in London. One of Ingeborg's most memorable performances was in the title role of Richard Strauss's "Salome" at the Salzburg Festival in 1961.
