He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly progressed, showing a natural ability for the instrument. By the age of ten, Martin had already won several local piano competitions and was gaining recognition as a prodigious young talent. At the age of twelve, Martin was accepted into the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School in Surrey, England. Martin thrived in this environment, receiving expert tuition from some of the best teachers in the country. During his time at the Yehudi Menuhin School, Martin began to develop his own unique style of playing. He was particularly drawn to the works of the Romantic composers, such as Chopin and Liszt, and his performances were characterized by their emotional intensity and virtuosity. After graduating from the Yehudi Menuhin School, Martin went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
