Enkelejda Shkosa is a renowned Albanian soprano who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born on December 23, 1978, in Tirana, Albania, Enkelejda showed an early interest in music and began singing at a young age. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Enkelejda began her formal music education at the age of 14 when she enrolled in the Artistic Lyceum "Jordan Misja" in Tirana. She studied under the guidance of renowned Albanian vocal coaches such as Llazar Fundo and Gjergj Kacinari. During her time at the Artistic Lyceum, Enkelejda participated in various music competitions and won several awards. In 1997, Enkelejda was accepted into the Academy of Arts in Tirana, where she continued her vocal studies. She graduated with honors in 2001 and was awarded a scholarship to study at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy. Enkelejda moved to Rome and began studying under the guidance of renowned vocal coach Renata Scotto. Enkelejda's talent and hard work paid off when she won the prestigious "Toti dal Monte" International Competition in Treviso, Italy, in 2002. This win marked the beginning of Enkelejda's international career as a soprano. She began performing in various opera houses and concert halls across Europe, including the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera House in London, and the Vienna State Opera. Enkelejda's repertoire includes a wide range of operas, from the Baroque era to contemporary works. She has performed in productions of Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro," Verdi's "La Traviata," Puccini's "La Bohème," and many others. Enkelejda is known for her powerful voice, impeccable technique, and emotional performances. In addition to her opera performances, Enkelejda has also performed in numerous concerts and recitals. She has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, and Daniel Barenboim. Enkelejda has also performed with various orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. Enkelejda's talent and hard work have been recognized with numerous awards and honors. In 2003, she was awarded the "Pavarotti d'Oro" prize for her outstanding performance in the role of Violetta in Verdi's "La Traviata." In 2005, she was awarded the "Premio Abbiati" by the Italian music critics' association for her performance in the role of Donna Anna in Mozart's "Don Giovanni." Enkelejda has also been recognized for her humanitarian work. In 2010, she was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Albania. She has used her platform as a renowned soprano to raise awareness about various social issues, including poverty, gender equality, and environmental sustainability. Enkelejda continues to perform and inspire audiences around the world with her talent and passion for music. She is a true ambassador of Albanian culture and a role model for aspiring musicians.
