Born in 1984 in Germany, Margulis grew up in a family of musicians. Her father, Alexander Margulis, was a renowned pianist, and her mother, Liana Margulis, was a violinist. From a young age, Margulis was exposed to classical music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Margulis received her early music education at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hanover, Germany. She later went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree. Margulis continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, where she received her Master of Music degree. Margulis has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. One of Margulis's most notable performances was at the 2006 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, where she won the second prize.
