Petter Sundkvist is a renowned conductor and classical music artist from Sweden. He was born on August 22, 1965, in Stockholm, Sweden. Sundkvist grew up in a family of musicians, and his parents were both professional musicians. His father was a cellist, and his mother was a pianist. Sundkvist started playing the violin at the age of six and later learned to play the piano and the trumpet. Sundkvist attended the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he studied conducting under Jorma Panula.
