Alexandre Dossin is a renowned classical pianist and professor of music at the University of Oregon. Born in Brazil in 1973, Dossin began playing the piano at the age of four and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He went on to study at the University of São Paulo and later at the Moscow State Conservatory, where he earned his doctorate in piano performance. Throughout his career, Dossin has performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Moscow Philharmonic, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. One of Dossin's most notable performances was his 2003 debut at Carnegie Hall, where he performed a program of works by Chopin, Liszt, and Prokofiev. The New York Times praised his "virtuosic technique and interpretive depth," and he quickly became known as one of the most exciting young pianists of his generation. In addition to his performing career, Dossin is also a highly respected teacher and has taught at some of the world's leading music schools, including the Moscow State Conservatory, the University of Michigan, and the University of Cincinnati. He is currently a professor of piano at the University of Oregon, where he has been praised for his innovative teaching methods and his ability to inspire his students to achieve their full potential. Dossin has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition in Rio de Janeiro, the Gold Medal at the International Piano Competition in San Antonio, and the First Prize at the International Piano Competition in New Orleans. He has also been a finalist in several other major competitions, including the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and the Leeds International Piano Competition.
