Role:ConductorThibaut Lenaerts is a Belgian classical guitarist who has gained international recognition for his virtuosic performances and innovative interpretations of classical guitar repertoire. Born in Brussels in 1987, Lenaerts began playing the guitar at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He studied with renowned guitarists such as Roland Dyens, Carlo Marchione, and Pavel Steidl, and went on to earn degrees from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Lenaerts has won numerous awards and competitions throughout his career, including first prize at the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist Competition in 2013. He has also been a finalist in several other major competitions, including the Francisco Tárrega International Guitar Competition and the Tokyo International Guitar Competition. Lenaerts has performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas, appearing as a soloist with orchestras such as the Brussels Philharmonic, the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also given recitals at major venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, and the National Concert Hall in Taipei. One of Lenaerts' most notable performances was his debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2015, where he received critical acclaim for his "dazzling technique and musical sensitivity." He has also been featured on several recordings, including his debut album "Guitar Recital" in 2012 and his most recent album "Bach Inspirations" in 2020.
