Role:ConductorWerner Herbers is a renowned classical music artist who has made significant contributions to the world of music as a conductor, oboist, and founder of the Ebony Band. Born on May 12, 1940, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Herbers showed an early interest in music and began playing the oboe at the age of 12. He studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory and later at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, Germany. Herbers began his professional career as an oboist in 1963, when he joined the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam. He quickly established himself as a talented musician and became the orchestra's principal oboist in 1969. During his time with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Herbers performed under the direction of some of the world's most renowned conductors, including Leonard Bernstein, Herbert von Karajan, and Claudio Abbado. In addition to his work with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Herbers also performed as a soloist and chamber musician. He collaborated with many of the world's leading musicians, including pianist Martha Argerich and cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
