Kirsten Ashley Wiest is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for herself in the industry through her exceptional vocal abilities and captivating performances. Born on August 22, 1983, in San Diego, California, Kirsten grew up in a family that was passionate about music. Her mother was a pianist, and her father was a guitarist, which exposed her to music at a young age. Kirsten's love for music began to blossom when she was just five years old. She started taking piano lessons and quickly developed a passion for singing. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue music as a career. Kirsten's vocal abilities were evident from a young age, and she began performing in local talent shows and competitions. Kirsten's passion for music led her to pursue a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Southern California. During her time at USC, Kirsten honed her skills and gained valuable experience performing in various operas and concerts. After completing her undergraduate studies, Kirsten continued her education at the University of Michigan, where she earned a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance. Kirsten's talent and hard work paid off when she won the prestigious Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 2008. She made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 2010, where she performed the role of the High Priestess in "Aida." Since then, Kirsten has performed in numerous operas and concerts across the United States and Europe. Some of her notable performances include the role of Donna Anna in "Don Giovanni" at the Glimmerglass Festival, the role of Fiordiligi in "Così fan tutte" at the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, and the role of Rosalinde in "Die Fledermaus" at the Virginia Opera. Kirsten's talent and hard work have not gone unnoticed, and she has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In addition to winning the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, Kirsten was also a finalist in the Loren L. Zachary National Vocal Competition and the Palm Beach Opera Vocal Competition. She was also a recipient of the Richard F. Gold Career Grant from the Shoshana Foundation. Kirsten is not only a talented performer but also a dedicated educator. She has served as a vocal coach and instructor at various institutions, including the University of Southern California and the University of Michigan. She is also a sought-after masterclass instructor and has conducted workshops and classes across the country. In addition to her work as a performer and educator, Kirsten is also a passionate advocate for the arts.
