Ingrid Attrot is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Born in Vancouver, Canada, in 1955, Attrot grew up in a family that valued music and the arts. Her mother was a pianist, and her father was a music lover who introduced her to classical music at a young age. Attrot began her musical journey by learning the piano at the age of six. However, it was not until she was in her teens that she discovered her true passion for singing. She started taking voice lessons and quickly realized that she had a natural talent for singing. Attrot went on to study music at the University of British Columbia, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance. After completing her studies, Attrot began her professional career as a classical music artist. She quickly gained recognition for her exceptional vocal abilities and was invited to perform at various prestigious events and venues. One of her early highlights was performing as a soloist with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in Handel's Messiah. Attrot's career continued to flourish, and she went on to perform with many other renowned orchestras and conductors. She has performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, and the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, among others. Attrot has also worked with many notable conductors, including Sir Neville Marriner, Bramwell Tovey, and Mario Bernardi. In addition to her work as a soloist, Attrot has also been a member of several vocal ensembles. She was a member of the Vancouver Chamber Choir for over 20 years and has also performed with the Elmer Iseler Singers and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. Attrot's talent and hard work have been recognized with numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 1982, she was the winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, which helped launch her career in the United States. She has also been the recipient of the Canada Council for the Arts' prestigious Jacqueline Desmarais Foundation Award for Young Canadian Opera Singers. Attrot's repertoire is vast and includes works from many different composers and genres. She has performed in operas, oratorios, and recitals, and has recorded several albums. Some of her notable recordings include Handel's Messiah, Bach's St. John Passion, and Mozart's Requiem. Attrot's dedication to her craft and her exceptional talent have made her a beloved figure in the world of classical music. She has inspired countless young musicians and has helped to keep the tradition of classical music alive and thriving.
