John Carmen Rossi was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Rossi showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Rossi's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed a passion for classical music. In 2008, Rossi won first prize in the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. His performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor impressed the judges and earned him a standing ovation from the audience. Following his victory at the Van Cliburn Competition, Rossi's career took off. He began performing in major concert halls around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Sydney Opera House. He also made several recordings, including a critically acclaimed album of Chopin's piano works. In 2012, Rossi was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians and provides financial support to help them further their careers. The grant allowed Rossi to continue performing and recording, and he went on to release several more albums, including a recording of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas. Throughout his career, Rossi has been praised for his technical skill, musicality, and emotional depth.
