Jacob Kellermann is a Swedish classical guitarist who has gained international recognition for his virtuosic performances and innovative interpretations of classical guitar repertoire. Born on May 22, 1988, in Stockholm, Sweden, Kellermann began playing the guitar at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Kellermann's early musical education was focused on classical guitar, and he studied with some of the most renowned guitarists in Sweden, including Göran Söllscher and Magnus Andersson. He also attended masterclasses with internationally acclaimed guitarists such as Manuel Barrueco, David Russell, and Pepe Romero. In 2007, Kellermann was accepted into the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he studied with Anders Miolin and received his Bachelor of Music degree in 2011. He continued his studies at the Royal College of Music in London, where he earned his Master of Music degree in 2013 under the tutelage of Gary Ryan. Kellermann's career as a professional musician began to take off in 2010 when he won first prize in the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist Competition. This award brought him to the attention of the international classical guitar community and led to numerous concert engagements in Europe, Asia, and North America. Since then, Kellermann has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also appeared as a soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Taipei Symphony Orchestra. Kellermann's repertoire is wide-ranging and includes works by classical guitar composers such as Francisco Tárrega, Heitor Villa-Lobos, and Leo Brouwer, as well as transcriptions of works by J.S. Bach, Franz Schubert, and Sergei Rachmaninoff. He is also known for his collaborations with contemporary composers, and has premiered works by composers such as Magnus Lindberg, Hans Gefors, and Jesper Nordin. In addition to his performing career, Kellermann is also a dedicated teacher and has given masterclasses at some of the world's leading music schools, including the Royal College of Music in London, the Juilliard School in New York, and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Kellermann's recordings have received critical acclaim and have been praised for their technical brilliance and musical sensitivity. His debut album, "Guitar Recital," was released in 2014 and features works by Tárrega, Villa-Lobos, and Brouwer. His second album, "Bach on Guitar," was released in 2017 and features transcriptions of works by J.S. Bach. Kellermann has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including the Swedish Radio P2 Prize for Best Classical Album in 2014 and the Royal Swedish Academy of Music's Interpretation Prize in 2016. He was also named a Rising Star by the European Concert Hall Organization in 2018, which led to a series of concerts in some of Europe's most prestigious concert halls. Despite his young age, Jacob Kellermann has already established himself as one of the leading classical guitarists of his generation. His technical brilliance, musical sensitivity, and innovative interpretations of classical guitar repertoire have earned him a devoted following and have cemented his place in the pantheon of great classical guitarists.
