Role:ConductorKevin John Edusei is a Ghanaian-German conductor who has made a name for himself in the classical music world. He was born on August 14, 1976, in Munich, Germany, to Ghanaian parents. Edusei grew up in a musical family, with his father being a choir director and his mother a singer. He started playing the piano at the age of six and later learned to play the violin and the trumpet. Edusei studied conducting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg. He also attended masterclasses with renowned conductors such as Bernard Haitink, Sir Colin Davis, and Kurt Masur. In 2004, he won the German Conductors' Award, which gave him the opportunity to conduct the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. Edusei's career took off when he was appointed as the General Music Director of the Munich Symphony Orchestra in 2014. He was the first black conductor to hold such a position in Germany.
