Rieko Aizawa is a renowned classical pianist who has captivated audiences around the world with her exceptional talent and musicality. Born in Japan, Aizawa began playing the piano at the age of four and quickly showed a natural aptitude for the instrument. She went on to study at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree. After completing her studies in Japan, Aizawa moved to the United States to continue her education at the Juilliard School in New York City. There, she studied with renowned pianist and teacher Yoheved Kaplinsky, who helped to shape her musical style and technique. Aizawa also had the opportunity to work with other notable musicians, including Emanuel Ax and Richard Goode. Throughout her career, Aizawa has performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls and music festivals. She has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchestra of St. Luke's. Aizawa has also collaborated with many other musicians, including cellist Yo-Yo Ma and violinist Joshua Bell. One of Aizawa's most notable performances was at the 2011 Mostly Mozart Festival in New York City, where she played Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major. Her performance was widely praised for its sensitivity and musicality, and it helped to establish her as one of the leading pianists of her generation. In addition to her performances, Aizawa has also received numerous awards and accolades for her work. She was a prize winner at the 1999 Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in Brussels, and she has also received awards from the Juilliard School and the Tokyo Foundation for Arts and Culture. Despite her many accomplishments, Aizawa remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to perform regularly and to inspire audiences with her exceptional talent and musicality.
