In 1938, when Esther was thirteen years old, her family had to flee Austria due to the Nazi occupation. They settled in the United States, where Esther continued her music education. She studied at the Juilliard School in New York City and later at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Esther's talent and hard work paid off, and she quickly gained recognition as a pianist. She won several awards and competitions, including the prestigious Naumburg International Piano Competition in 1950. This award launched her career and opened doors for her to perform in major concert halls around the world. Esther's performances were known for their technical brilliance and emotional depth.
