Born on May 31, 1986, in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, Baranov began playing the violin at the age of five. He showed a natural talent for the instrument and quickly became a prodigy. Baranov's parents recognized his talent early on and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. They enrolled him in the Nizhny Novgorod Music School, where he studied under the guidance of Natalia Boyarskaya. Baranov's talent continued to flourish, and he went on to study at the Moscow State Conservatory, where he was mentored by Eduard Grach. During his time at the Moscow State Conservatory, Baranov won several prestigious awards, including the Grand Prix at the International Violin Competition in Novosibirsk and the First Prize at the International Violin Competition in Astana. These awards helped to establish Baranov as a rising star in the world of classical music. After completing his studies at the Moscow State Conservatory, Baranov continued to hone his craft by participating in masterclasses with some of the world's most renowned violinists, including Maxim Vengerov, Zakhar Bron, and Shlomo Mintz. Baranov's talent and hard work paid off when he won the First Prize at the International Violin Competition in Montreal in 2011.
