He was born on December 12, 1973, in Moscow, Russia. From a young age, Chistiakov showed a keen interest in music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. Chistiakov began his musical education at the Gnessin School of Music in Moscow, where he studied piano under the guidance of Professor Tatiana Zelikman. He later continued his studies at the Moscow State Conservatory, where he received his diploma with honors in 1998. During his time at the conservatory, Chistiakov was mentored by renowned pianist and professor Lev Naumov.
