Hanna Lachert was born on May 15, 1990, in Warsaw, Poland. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Lachert showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Lachert's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking piano lessons with renowned pianist and teacher, Janusz Olejniczak, at the age of six. Under his guidance, Lachert quickly developed her skills and began performing in public at the age of eight. At the age of ten, Lachert won her first major competition, the National Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Warsaw. This was the beginning of a long and successful career in music. Lachert continued to study with Olejniczak and went on to attend the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance. During her time at the university, Lachert won several awards and competitions, including the 1st Prize at the International Piano Competition in San Marino, Italy. After completing her Bachelor's degree, Lachert continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in Germany, where she earned a Master's degree in Piano Performance. While in Germany, Lachert had the opportunity to study with some of the world's most renowned pianists, including Maria João Pires and András Schiff. Lachert's career as a professional pianist began to take off after she won the 1st Prize at the International Piano Competition in Valencia, Spain, in 2014. This was a major turning point in her career, as it led to numerous invitations to perform at major concert halls and festivals around the world. One of Lachert's most memorable performances was at the Chopin and His Europe Festival in Warsaw in 2015. She performed Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Jacek Kaspszyk. The performance was met with critical acclaim and solidified Lachert's reputation as one of the world's leading interpreters of Chopin's music. Lachert has also performed at other major festivals and concert halls around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. She has collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. In addition to her performances, Lachert is also a dedicated teacher and has given masterclasses at universities and conservatories around the world. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of musicians. Throughout her career, Lachert has received numerous awards and accolades for her performances and recordings. In 2017, she was awarded the prestigious Fryderyk Award for her recording of Chopin's Piano Concertos with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. Lachert's recordings have also received critical acclaim, with her recording of Chopin's Nocturnes being described as "a revelation" by Gramophone magazine. Her recordings of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas have also been praised for their "clarity, precision, and emotional depth." Despite her success, Lachert remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to practice for several hours a day and is always looking for ways to improve her playing.
