Sanja Bizjak is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for herself in the world of piano performance. Born in Belgrade, Serbia, in 1982, Bizjak showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue her passion for music. Bizjak's early musical education was in Serbia, where she studied at the Music School "Mokranjac" in Belgrade. She later continued her studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she earned a degree in piano performance. During her time in Paris, Bizjak studied under the tutelage of renowned pianists such as Jacques Rouvier, Hortense Cartier-Bresson, and Jean-François Heisser. Bizjak's talent and dedication to her craft quickly became apparent, and she began to receive recognition for her performances. In 2001, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Niš, Serbia. This was followed by a win at the International Piano Competition in Rome in 2002. These early successes helped to establish Bizjak as a rising star in the world of classical music. Over the years, Bizjak has performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls and festivals. She has played at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Salle Gaveau, and the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, as well as at the Wigmore Hall in London, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. She has also performed at major festivals such as the Festival de La Roque d'Anthéron, the Festival de Radio France et Montpellier, and the Festival de Piano de La Grange de Meslay. Bizjak's repertoire is wide-ranging, encompassing works by classical composers such as Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin, as well as contemporary composers such as Ligeti and Messiaen. She is particularly known for her interpretations of the works of Franz Liszt, and has recorded several albums of his music. In addition to her performances, Bizjak is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris and the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Boulogne-Billancourt, and has given masterclasses in France, Serbia, and China. Bizjak's talent and hard work have been recognized with numerous awards and honors. In 2006, she was awarded the Prix de la Fondation Simone et Cino Del Duca, which recognizes outstanding achievement in the arts and sciences. She was also a laureate of the Banque Populaire Foundation in 2007, and was awarded the title of "Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" by the French government in 2011. Despite her many accomplishments, Bizjak remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to perform and teach, and is always seeking to improve her skills and deepen her understanding of music.
