Christian Curnyn is a renowned conductor and harpsichordist in the world of classical music. He was born in 1968 in London, England, and grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a professional cellist, and his mother was a music teacher. Curnyn showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. Curnyn attended the Royal College of Music in London, where he studied harpsichord and conducting. He also studied with renowned harpsichordist Kenneth Gilbert in France. After completing his studies, Curnyn began his career as a freelance harpsichordist and conductor, performing with various orchestras and ensembles in Europe and North America. In 1994, Curnyn founded the Early Opera Company, a period-instrument ensemble dedicated to performing Baroque and Classical operas.
