Born on December 31, 1978, in Shanghai, China, Chang Jing showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Chang Jing's early education in music was at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and educator, Professor Yin Chengzong. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance in 1999 and went on to pursue a Master's degree in Conducting at the same institution. Chang Jing's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age, and she quickly gained recognition as a rising star in the classical music world. In 1997, she won first prize in the National Piano Competition in China, and in 1999, she was awarded the prestigious Yamaha Music Scholarship. In 2001, she won first prize in the International Piano Competition in Spain, and in 2003, she was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition in France.
