Arnold Steinhardt is a renowned American violinist, author, and educator. He was born on July 18, 1937, in Los Angeles, California, to a family of musicians. His father was a violinist and his mother was a pianist. Steinhardt began playing the violin at the age of six and showed exceptional talent from an early age. Steinhardt's musical education began at the University of Southern California, where he studied with the renowned violinist Eudice Shapiro. He later continued his studies at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he studied with Ivan Galamian and Efrem Zimbalist. Steinhardt's talent and dedication to his craft were evident from the start, and he quickly established himself as one of the most promising young violinists of his generation. In 1964, Steinhardt became the first violinist of the Guarneri Quartet, one of the most celebrated string quartets in the world.
