Born on April 5, 1970, in the United States, Angelich grew up in a family of musicians and began playing the piano at a young age. His father was a violinist and his mother was a pianist, so music was always a part of his life. He also attended the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he studied with Michel Beroff and Marie-Francoise Bucquet.
