Born on May 22, 1959, in Bologna, Italy, Dragoni showed an early interest in music and began studying piano at the age of six. However, it was her exceptional singing voice that would ultimately lead her to a successful career in classical music. Growing up in a musical family, Dragoni was exposed to a wide range of musical genres from an early age. Her father was a jazz musician, while her mother was a classical pianist. Dragoni's parents recognized her talent for singing and encouraged her to pursue vocal training. She began studying with renowned vocal coaches in Italy and quickly developed a reputation as a gifted soprano. In 1982, Dragoni made her professional debut at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, where she performed the role of Barbarina in Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro." This performance marked the beginning of a long and illustrious career for Dragoni, who would go on to perform in some of the world's most prestigious opera houses and concert halls. Over the years, Dragoni has performed a wide range of roles in operas by composers such as Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, and Rossini. Some of her most notable performances include her portrayal of Susanna in Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro," Gilda in Verdi's "Rigoletto," and Mimi in Puccini's "La bohème." Dragoni's performances have been praised for their emotional depth, technical precision, and stunning vocal range. In addition to her work in opera, Dragoni has also established herself as a successful concert artist. She has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. Dragoni's concert repertoire includes works by composers such as Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi, as well as contemporary composers such as John Adams and Philip Glass.
