He was born on January 15, 1932, in Vienna, Austria. His parents were both musicians, and they encouraged him to pursue music from a young age. Rosenberger showed a natural talent for music, and he began playing the piano at the age of four. Rosenberger's parents recognized his talent and enrolled him in the Vienna Music Academy when he was just six years old. He studied under some of the most prominent music teachers in Austria, including Bruno Seidlhofer and Hans Swarowsky. Rosenberger's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age, and he quickly became one of the most promising young musicians in Austria. In 1950, Rosenberger made his debut as a solo pianist at the Vienna Musikverein. The performance was a huge success, and it marked the beginning of Rosenberger's career as a professional musician.
