He was born on 17th June 1923 in London, England, and showed an early interest in music. Bramma began his musical education at the age of eight when he started taking piano lessons. He later switched to the organ, which became his primary instrument. Bramma's talent as an organist was evident from an early age, and he quickly gained recognition for his exceptional skills. He was appointed as the organist and choirmaster at St. Andrew's Church in Enfield, London, at the age of 18. Bramma continued to hone his skills and gained further recognition when he won the prestigious Organ Scholarship to Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1942. During his time at Trinity College, Bramma studied under the renowned composer and conductor Boris Ord. He also had the opportunity to work with other notable musicians, including Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears. Bramma's talent as an organist and conductor continued to flourish, and he was appointed as the organist and choirmaster at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, in 1958. Bramma's tenure at St. George's Chapel was marked by several notable achievements. He was responsible for the music at many royal events, including the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981. Bramma also conducted the choir at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, in 2002. In addition to his work at St. George's Chapel, Bramma was also a prolific composer. He wrote several pieces for the organ, choir, and orchestra, many of which were performed at St. George's Chapel. Bramma's compositions were known for their intricate harmonies and beautiful melodies, and they were widely admired by musicians and audiences alike.
