Alisa Weilerstein is a renowned American cellist who has made a name for herself in the classical music world. Born on April 14, 1982, in Rochester, New York, Alisa grew up in a family of musicians. Her parents, Donald Weilerstein and Vivian Hornik Weilerstein, were both professional violinists, and her grandmother was a pianist. Alisa began playing the cello at the age of four, and by the time she was nine, she was already performing in public. Alisa's talent was evident from a young age, and she quickly gained recognition for her exceptional musical abilities. She won her first major competition at the age of 13, when she was awarded first prize in the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians.
