From a young age, Bruce was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Bruce's parents recognized his talent and enrolled him in the Royal Academy of Music in London when he was just six years old. He studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in the world, including Maria João Pires and Martha Argerich. In 1990, at the age of 15, Bruce won the prestigious International Piano Competition in Moscow. This was a significant achievement for such a young musician, and it catapulted him into the international spotlight. He went on to win several other competitions, including the Leeds International Piano Competition and the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.
