From a young age, Menezes showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. His parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Menezes received his formal music education at the National School of Music in Rio de Janeiro. He studied under the guidance of renowned pianists and music teachers, including Arnaldo Estrella and Jacques Klein. Menezes was a dedicated student and spent countless hours practicing and perfecting his craft. In 1970, Menezes made his debut performance at the Teatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro. His performance was well-received, and he quickly gained recognition as a talented pianist. Over the next few years, Menezes performed extensively in Brazil and other countries, including the United States, France, and Germany. One of the highlights of Menezes' career was his performance at the Carnegie Hall in New York City in 1975. He received a standing ovation for his performance of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14, also known as the "Moonlight Sonata." The performance was a turning point in Menezes' career, and he became a household name in the world of classical music. Menezes continued to perform at major venues around the world, including the Royal Albert Hall in London and the Salle Pleyel in Paris.
