Born on October 17, 1982, in Pabianice, Poland, Urbanski showed an early interest in music and began playing the violin at the age of seven. Urbanski's musical education began at the Pabianice Music School, where he studied under the tutelage of Jolanta Szostak. He later attended the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied violin with Krzysztof Jakowicz and conducting with Antoni Wit. Urbanski also studied at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, where he worked with Thomas Brandis. Urbanski's career as a conductor began in 2007 when he was appointed as the assistant conductor of the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. He quickly gained recognition for his talent and was appointed as the orchestra's principal conductor in 2009. Urbanski's tenure with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra was marked by numerous successful performances and recordings, including a critically acclaimed recording of Witold Lutoslawski's Symphony No. 1.
