Kyndel Quartet is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their exceptional performances since their founding in 2015. The quartet comprises four talented musicians, each with a unique background and skill set, who come together to create a harmonious and captivating sound. The founding members of Kyndel Quartet are violinists Kaitlyn Resler and Yijia Fang, violist Nathan Schram, and cellist Alex Cox. The quartet was formed when the four musicians met while studying at The Juilliard School in New York City. They quickly discovered a shared passion for chamber music and decided to form a quartet. Kyndel Quartet takes its name from the Old Norse word "kyndill," which means "candle." The quartet chose this name to represent the warmth and intimacy of their music, which they strive to create in every performance. Since their founding, Kyndel Quartet has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the United States, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. They have also performed internationally, with concerts in Europe and Asia. One of the highlights of Kyndel Quartet's career was their performance at the 2017 Chamber Music America Conference in New York City. The quartet was selected to perform as part of the conference's showcase concert, which featured some of the most promising young chamber music ensembles in the country. Kyndel Quartet has also been recognized for their exceptional talent and musicianship. In 2016, they were awarded the Grand Prize at the Plowman Chamber Music Competition, which is one of the most prestigious chamber music competitions in the United States. The quartet was also awarded the Silver Medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in 2017. In addition to their performances and awards, Kyndel Quartet is committed to education and outreach. They have worked with students of all ages, from elementary school to college, to promote the importance of classical music and inspire the next generation of musicians.
