Birth:1980 in Mansfield, MOMichael Spyres is a renowned American tenor who has made a name for himself in the world of classical music. Born on December 2, 1979, in Mansfield, Missouri, Spyres grew up in a musical family. His father was a music teacher, and his mother was a pianist. Spyres started singing at a young age and showed a natural talent for music. Spyres began his formal music education at the age of 18 when he enrolled at Missouri State University. He studied voice under Dr. Ann Harrell and quickly became one of the top students in the program. After completing his undergraduate degree, Spyres went on to earn a Master of Music degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance. In 2003, Spyres made his professional debut with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City in the role of Count Almaviva in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro."
