Role:EnsembleCordArte is a classical music ensemble that specializes in performing music from the Baroque era. The group was founded in 2012 by a group of musicians who shared a passion for early music and historical performance practices. The ensemble is led by violinist and artistic director Pablo Zapico, who is also a founding member of the group. Zapico was born in Asturias, Spain, in 1983, and began playing the violin at a young age. He studied at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Oviedo and later at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Salamanca, where he earned a degree in violin performance. Zapico's interest in early music led him to study historical performance practices, and he became particularly interested in the music of the Baroque era. He founded CordArte with the goal of exploring this repertoire and bringing it to audiences around the world. Since its founding, CordArte has become one of the leading ensembles in the field of early music. The group has performed at major festivals and concert halls throughout Europe, including the Festival de Música Antigua de Aranjuez, the Festival de Música Antigua de Úbeda y Baeza, and the Festival de Música Antigua de Gijón. CordArte has also released several critically acclaimed recordings, including their debut album, "Sonatas y Partitas," which features works by J.S. Bach. The album was praised for its "impeccable technique and musicality" and was named one of the best classical recordings of the year by several publications. In addition to their performances and recordings, CordArte is also committed to education and outreach. The group regularly gives masterclasses and workshops for young musicians, and has worked with schools and community organizations to bring early music to new audiences. CordArte's success has been recognized with several awards and honors. In 2015, the group was awarded the Premio de la Crítica de Asturias, which recognizes outstanding achievements in the arts and culture. The following year, CordArte was named Ensemble in Residence at the Festival de Música Antigua de Gijón, a prestigious honor that recognizes the group's contributions to the field of early music. Looking to the future, CordArte is committed to continuing their exploration of the Baroque repertoire and bringing this music to audiences around the world. With their impeccable technique, musicality, and commitment to historical performance practices, CordArte is sure to remain a leading ensemble in the field of early music for years to come.More....
